Are you getting recordings of my session?

Updated over 2 months ago

Absolutely NOT! We do not store or retain any recordings of your sessions. Audio and video are processed in real-time and are never persisted to our servers.

Here's a breakdown of what we do collect and how we handle it:

Telemetry: We log performance stats around network bandwidth, CPU, and memory usage to help us improve the product.

Feedback (in-app popup surveys, etc.): This goes straight to our internal Slack where we review it and create tasks for our product team to prioritize.

Session diagnostics: We have an opt-in feature where you can share transcripts from your session if you want our team to run a detailed diagnostic while debugging an issue.

Screenshots (and clips in the future): These are encrypted at rest in your own secure cloud container using the highest available encryption standards. We have plans to allow local storage in the future, though this is more technically involved and would increase local storage requirements.

Our privacy values

The product surface area is complex, so we thought it might be helpful to share the values we constantly revisit during design decisions:

We believe in respecting and upholding user privacy. We treat all data with the sensitivity and care it deserves—consistent with how we'd want our own personal data handled. Everyone on our team (and close friends of ours) are avid Ampfi users too, so we would never take actions to violate that trust.

Many of these criteria are covered under GDPR, but we aim to go above and beyond—and we expect our community to hold us to that standard.
